So grab your apron and get ready to make the best cheeseburger you've ever tasted!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)

  • 4 slices of pepper jack cheese

  • 2 jalapeños, diced

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mayo, mustard

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, diced jalapeños, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  2. Divide the meat mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into thin patties. Place a slice of pepper jack cheese on top of 4 of the patties, leaving a small border around the edge.

  3. Take the remaining 4 patties and place them on top of the cheese-topped patties. Press the edges together to seal the cheese inside the patty.

  4. Preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once the grill or skillet is hot, add the burgers and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired level of doneness.

  5. While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  6. Assemble the burgers by placing the patty on the bottom bun, and adding your desired toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mayo, or mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

  7. Serve immediately and enjoy the ooey-gooey, cheesy goodness of these jalapeño and pepper jack cheese burgers!

Tips:

  • Use gloves when handling the jalapeños to avoid getting the spice on your hands.

  • You can also cook these burgers in a frying pan or under the broiler if you don't have a grill.

  • Don't press down on the burger while it's cooking, as this will release the juices and make it dry.

  • Letting the meat mixture rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator before shaping the patties will make it easier to handle and keep the burgers from falling apart.

  • For an extra kick of heat, you can add some cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the meat mixture.

Now that you know how to make jalapeño and pepper jack cheese burgers with cheese inside the patty, it's time to get cooking! Whether you're firing up the grill or cooking inside, these burgers are sure to become a new family favorite.
